FTX will start paying out compensation to creditors with claims over $50k starting May 30, using $11.4 billion in cash. But there's a catch — the settlement will be based on crypto prices from November 11, 2022. That means creditors will get about 20% of the current Bitcoin price, even though it has grown fivefold since then.
