Farcaster

Farcaster should add DNS support and make it so the DNS holder gets a verified badge on their profile, verified via a DNS txt record. And additional accounts could be verified via additional txt records. It could look visually identical to the way X does things.

ENS subdomains would be cool to but for business, websites make the most sense imo.

According to @v we'll probably never see DNS support in Farcaster becasue even prominent devs in the community have poor DNS opsec.

I wonder if @icebreaker has a better approach?

Never said that. 

I think DNS text verification for domains on your profile is a good idea, just not yet top priority.

DNS is a good decentralized system, but it isn't "strong form decentralized" in the same way that Ethereum is. 

One of the reasons we built identity on Ethereum instead of the web.

that's about dns as primary identity (username) which i still feel the same way about 

this is about dns as a verification (badge on profile saying i also own xyz.com)

The context of the original cast was using DNS to badge people as members of that org for purposes of support.

Given this context, I'd argue that this badging should have the same security guarantees as your username. (ie. if allowing DNS for badges, why not both)
