Should we rebrand Warpcast to Farcaster?

We separated Warpcast (the app) from Farcaster (the protocol) a few years ago. 

We've heard from many new users that this is very, very confusing. People hear about Farcaster, search in the app store, can't find anything called Farcaster and then churn.

Ok crazy idea but hear me out: Make Farcaster compatible with atproto, become the first full alternate AppView to BlueSky with sovereign identity on ENS and built in payments and mini apps.

i think we would get instant organ rejection from atproto community :) they are very anti-ai and anti-crypto

disagree. I attended ATmosphereConf last weekend. About 1/3 of the devs expressed crypto support in general or crypto rails for payment. 

But more importantly, the protocol is all open, so you don't need permission. And if you bring an audience, I but you could expand it to more crypto natives -- especially those that aren't Ethereum maxis, who won't come here.

You do not need permission from the Bluesky team to build an ATproto Client / AppView.

I don't think the Bluesky team would welcome us with open arms. We wanted to work with them on shared standards in the early days, but their leadership made their engineers and advisors stop talking to us. Someone even had to return a no-strings-attached OSS grant we made to them! 

I have a lot of respect for their technical teams! But I think we are taking very different approaches to decentralization and community building, and I like ours a lot better.
