Practical, yes.

But extremely unsafe for society to use unshielded USDT. Sadly, most people in this space are far more interested in becoming rich than worrying about the harm it will bring to many if widely adopted.

Unfortunately it is also extremely risky to ship a privacy layer in this regulatory environment.
