That sounds like a 🌶️  take.

I'd amend it a little to:
I think it will be FID <> FID comms, wallets will dissolve into the clients and OS. Also, if spam is addressed in the protocols layer, we'll see less client capture.

Interesting question - SMTP is already protocolized, but it did end up with client capture

I'm hopeful that at some point we'll crack address <> address comms and wallet software could eat messaging as well. That would automatically enshrine some level of portability on client side
