the year was 2005 and my coworker was using these diet pills she got from a doctor in west oakland. one afternoon she gave me one, bc she said i hadta try it; would give me lotsa energy. not sure why she thought i'd want energy; 20 years ago i was like Hammy from Over the Hedge. anyway, i couldn't sleep and hadta go for a run at 3am. lesson: speed & me don't go well together.

I have a similar story but with multi-vitamin pills. I figured I'm extra sensitive to some combination of whatever was in the mix. Unfortunately I didn't save the jar so I'll never know for sure.

Many years later, I ordered a "tea with vitamins" at a cafe and had the same effect. I even went back to the cafe to ask what was in it but they said they had bought the tea in bulk and didn't save the ingredient list. I could probably do some tests if I was really curious but now I just avoid any vitamin mix.
