Becoming a parent has raised my standards for movies (and books, music, etc) by a factor of 100 There's just no time for bad movies, and I get genuinely angry at them

I feel the same about talks and presentations. At an event, when speakers say that they're minimally prepared, or even worse, that they're winging it, I want them to pay everyone in the room their hourly consultant rate for wasting the scarce-est resource - time.
