i love my airpods like no other but i think it’s kinda sad that we stand in elevators or sit on trains or walk on sidewalks and listen to the people next to us talk to other people instead of talking to each other

when my son was still small enough to hold my hand while we walked through a parking lot, he would wave at everyone who passed us (suburbs, not city). sometimes people would actually ignore him, this cute 4 year old friendly little boy. when that happened, he'd look up at me, questioningly, and i'd tell him, "maybe they're constipated and can't go potty, so are in a bad mood." this worked double, because little boys like to talk about potty and it taught him not to take stuff personally. sorry, long digression, but auntie love for you ted <3

yeah it's genuinely confusing to me when people don't react to little kids saying hi -- like idk what's going on in your life but there are few things to joy of a child can't heal. Is what it is
