How do you think this could scale to be more widely used? Any feedback as an early user?

It can work alongside of Github and other systems. 

The team is also building Drips Network for funding software dependencies https://drips.network

Code + collaboration + dependency tree payments are very powerful primitives.

GitHub (and GitLab to a lesser degree) are vertically integrated stacks that serve discovery / social graph / community / deployment now. 

What don’t they handle? What vertical slice / experience can Radicle tackle?

And: for which programming language or niche can they outperform?

Yes absolutely agree that they are powerful primitives! I’m a big supporter of the team, the mission and what they’re building, and just trying to think through how the product can get mass adoption. GitHub/Gitlab seem to have very high network effects - Dollar user retention for Gitlab is reported to be >100%.
