singapore might be on to something with beating criminals with canes. it’s worse than a ticket or jail but more humane than the death penalty. operates on a different playing field. you don’t fear financial loss or jail time, you fear getting the shit beat out of you. don’t see much of that anymore.

goto saudi next... they (used to) just chop your hands (theft) or behead you (murder) in public square every friday. for adultery you got lashes that broke your back... idk if they work long-term
