Yeah, I've heard similar experiences. It's such a sliver of books that get through the gaunlet and make it to a list via trad route. Did the agent expect you to grow your social media channels?

For me it was always about the audience. I had a literary agent at one point, but I never really built the audience to sell the book. Kinda got super frustrated about it.

I feel this. I had to take the nightmare route of getting up at 3:30 and writing until it was time to go to work. Did it inconsistently for five years lol. Now I just find moments. But it’s a real issue

When you say you don't know whicih publisher, do you mean you're looking at publishing houses that are accepting manuscripts?

I wrote a book years ago but don't know wich publisher I should send my pdf. So I lost the focus on that 😅
