a chamfered wood edge catches light beautifully and honors the material you rarely see this on mass-produced furniture because it would expose the cheap particleboard underneath the veneer

I had cheap cupboard drawers that have (mostly) all been rebuilt now, with real wood and dovetail joints. I love opening my drawers to admire the craftsmanship that went into them.
