for pedals im more on the small boutique builders side than the big companies

yeah keeley pedals sound great and really hi-fi but to me they dont really kick me off like some of the lesser known brands

yea, agreed I like the boutique shops too, though the EHX and MXR classics are tough to beat and way lower price point than the smaller guys.
