I feel like this is one of the biggest issues that crypto solves... fucking so much bank fees, granted gas fees are real, but not as fucked up as crazy bank fees, in most cases.

That is not true at all for ETH L1! I have spent more on gas on ETH before getting on L2s than I have in 35+ years of personal banking and that includes when I was super poor and had NSF fees all the time living paycheck to paycheck. 

Just having to pay to move from one wallet to another is pretty annoying. And I spent MANY hours just staring at the gas meters waiting for it to dip so I could do transactions losing the least money. It was the most annoying thing about ETH having to spend so much time or stay up till the wee hours to try to not lose everything to tx fees.
