Here is a beginning of Waldstein sonata as I was experimenting with acoustics today What microphone should I use I wonder. Just bought a completely useless Apple microphone. Is there a way to attach a professional mic which I have which requires usb to iPhone somehow?

Lovely work! You ideally want 'Studio Condenser Mic', you will likely need some kind of audio interface. Might get away with just having the correct cables depending on the mic you get.

Thanks so much, yes those audio interfaces I was always scared of. You wouldn’t believe how the thing looked when I was professionally recording in the studios with engineers etc. Very scary. Later I have seen simpler versions with friends using, I need to up my game though with more presence online

It only looked scary because we/they need lots of different pieces of equipment connected to a central desk. You’re only recording yourself on piano, most pianos are mic’d inside with 1 mic from memory (?). You could use 2 and have a stereo pair. Anyway you would only need small bits and pieces which are now readily available because of the explosion of podcasts.

Im looking at whether to get a behringer studio condenser and a little pre-amp/mixer just for podcasting and gaming. Might just be simpler to pick a normal podcasting mic but i know the quality of those mics.
