I will be visiting Amsterdam with my wife this weekend, anybody got recommendations for restaurants (especially local food), places to visit and stuff to do?

Here are my 2 cents for local food: Van 't Spit (at least it has a Dutch name). Piet de Leeuw is known for his steak. A bit more chic Paardenburgh in Ouderkerk has been serving Dutch cuisine for more than 375 years

Paardenburgh is the one in Amstel, right? I don't know if we will be able to make it so far South, but I will save it for the future.

Yes, it is indeed outside Amsterdam, but it is nice to cycle along the Amstel.

We want to rent bikes and were looking for cycling routes, so might be doing it after all.
