That's a good idea! I had a simple light sensor on an older prototype, but that's all.

However there's a camera onboard, so maybe using some visual detection software could be useful? I could also easily swap out the camera for a more capable one – Infrared, motion detection, etc.

infrared sounds interesting 🤔 
Even better idea would be using lidar and making maps of underwater surfaces. I reckon that would make fantastic content on Zora if it could map underwater cave systems or a boat wreck 😃

Could also be useful for science.
