I think there is less contradiction between these than it might seem. We need more "return to cypherpunk roots" on some axes (eg. L2s getting to stage 1, inclusion lists, light clients...) and more UX focus on some axes (most notably, making cross-L2 more seamless).

Ethereum is dying because of all these L2s. The number of L2s being created coupled with the emergence of solutions on Bitcoin.
