Feeling very "coin on @zora AND mint on @manifoldxyz" lately. One side for people who wanna gamble on my content in their own favor, another side for people who wanna support me directly.

Based on the data, it looks like a lot of people on Zora buy & hold — do you think some of the folks buying coins are doing so just to support? Very possible buyers are holding bc they can't sell for a profit...

Yes but creators make very little form the purchase of a coin (a % of trading fees), so if you’re not gonna sell, you may as well give the artist the full investment you made & support the artist directly

Yep, super interesting... I was thinking that while the creator wouldn't make much from the purchase of a coin, they would (theoretically) realize value in the price of the coin going up... But I guess to realize that value, the creator would have to be able to *sell* at a higher price, and be comfortable selling coins for their own work.

If coins were more than an attention game, I would agree. But wouldn't it be best to have a single coin that represents an artist overall than a coin for each individual thing they did in that case? Then if the artist's profile increases, there's a single point it feeds into instead of being at the mercy of each release

A million percent. One of the risks I see with post-level coins is the amount of decision-making friction it introduces. https://warpcast.com/reidtandy/0xd09604ef
