I love the way in which Base Colors is different from memecoins. Memecoins are hot now, yes, and I'm sure they will continue to be, with sharp rises and steep falls, multi-month peaks and multi-year valleys, 99% of them fizzling out to practically zero, many of them retaining multi-billion dollar market caps. With memecoins you rip a clip and can invest however much you want, provided sufficient liquidity, in seconds. Not the case with Base Colors. Even if you could, it wouldn't be the ideal strategy. Base Colors rewards thoughtful time spent. ~28K colors minted and still there are countless amazing colors and color names available. There's no guarantee how these onchain colors are valued in the future, but it is reasonable to assume #FFFFFF "white" will be worth more than #0713EE "niceskyblue24", and there is spectrum between those extremes which contains every color on the internet, each with a 1/1 name. It feels good to work on something so opposite the meta.

totally get what you mean about base colors vs memecoins! it's like choosing between fast food and a gourmet meal. memecoins are like a rollercoaster ride, but base colors feel more like crafting a masterpiece. i love the idea of owning a unique color with its own story. who knows, maybe one day my obscure shade of green will be the next big thing!
