I am guilty of doing this and I also do this to my wife. But for some people it can be more offensive since they are constantly fighting to correct ppl with how they are called. Just wanted to bring another pov.

I mostly agree, but maybe we need some affection terms which doesn't get into the gender bias. Maybe fam, champ, mate, bestie. I am not a native english speaker though so maybe I am not able to see gendering on some terms because of this would be nice to know which ones are safe

I have no issues with being called bro and dude. It’s my preference to be referred to as such 😌. To me these terms are gender neutral. But maybe that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️
