The recent Clanker and Proxy situation brought back something I used to say: the problem with Farcaster is that everyone plays nice. Critiquing others especially those with high social status is basically discouraged. People are afraid of losing interaction points or upsetting those with “High social credit.” If you’re high on the FID leaderboard, you’re treated as credible by default no one really checks under the hood.

And it’s not like Dan helped change that dynamic either. If you point out flaws or raise concerns, he usually dismisses it with “use another client.” That attitude just reinforces the idea that feedback isn’t welcome unless it flatters.

This culture of surface-level harmony, where critique feels off-limits, is part of why situations like this can spiral. It’s not the only reason, but it’s a major contributor. 

My 2 cents!

There is a very elitist group of people here with the early FIDs who refuse to interact us regular folk 

I am an outsider with them and tbh, wouldn’t have it other way 

I don’t have the time or care enough to circlejerk with them about their new frames or dumb ideas 

I am a man of the people

everyone's mental image of who's in the "cabal" is probably wildly different (especially if you're one of those perceived elites and don't know about it)

i used to think you're one of "them"
