Had this conversation with my wife the other day. Nothing she could say that would stop me paying off our 100k mortgage the second I were to make 100k from crypto. I'm tryna escape the matrix here not level up my cosmetics!

The debt free piece is key. It's obtainable for sure, but for some, very far out. I'm better off today that I was 6 months ago, but still have a multi year journey. A nice bull run gets me there quicker.

the funny thing is that i usually see people going to the other extreme of being too aggressive in paying down low interest debt, to the point of prioritizing getting their zero interest student loans to zero with aggressive extra payments

Absolutely sage advice man. I wish I paid mine off completely last bull. Paid a chunk off with crypto profits, but could've easily done it all (and didn't). I regret it now. No major regrets thankfully, but you're right that zero debt is ALWAYS better than low interest debt IMHO. R:R profile completely changes.

Can't agree more, clearing off debt shackles and setting a solid financial foundation will reap mental dividends that goes way longer term than short term financial gains.

The mental edge is what I believe in. I always wanted to have a side job so I could invest in peace and confidence because scared money ain’t making any money! Housing isn’t an option as it costs millions and we don’t have mortgages. We have to pay off in one big amount at once lol
