Been saying this for years. 

I see people “bragging” online about working 60-80 hours a week and I can’t help but laugh. 

If I can never work again and live even the same middle-class life I have no, I’d take that over working hard and trying to “level up” at all.

I’ve been approached to be an administrator quite a few times at schools, or teach AP classes, or dual enrollment classes, or coach, or do anything else for extra money stipends

My answer is always the same

I’m happy where I’m at thank you, I do not want to rise up the ranks, I want to be a cog in the machine

No shade for those who want a more luxurious life and are willing to put in the work for it, but my only priorities aside from having the bills paid and food in the fridge is having as much time as I have left on this spinning space ball to spend with my family and friends.

The rest is noise.

Nice play. I've spent the last years trying to climb the hierarchy but now that i've seen what's on top maybe i'm just happy having the freedom of the lower share instead of the prestige of the top part. 

It's a matter of knowing what's the most important for you and i've just realized freedom is what i want.
