My expectations for ethereum are that there will be better layers 2/3s leveraging on the ecosystem, making it more possible to onboard more web3 users. 
Challenges regarding this relate to having other users understand the system that has been built and how to implement it, another challenge may be the bad trend of airdrop farmers who are not contributing anything to the project after listing has taken place. 
Opportunities are endless include the use of ethereum transactions as RWA to make daily payment or to use in business. 
Web3 is still just in its infancy and that’s the beauty of it.
