wdym he just sends to the same address. receiver can can then bridge.

So that's the crux of the problem isn't it? say I want to pay $100 worth of eth to a friend on L1 for whatever reason, the fees alone is $30~. Do i have to fork out for the fees, or I'd let you deal with that on your own?
