Kicked off the day listening to @bankless and getting a coffee with @metamask's new crypto card. First thoughts: ✨ The moment: it felt like a little miracle when Apple Pay confirmed the transaction on my phone 🛠️ Onboarding: the process (knowing what's next, connecting a wallet, swapping and bridging to @linea) was ok for me as a crypto user, but can be 10xed as the product matures 🕵️♀️ Privacy: the transaction is now public –> we have to develop privacy best practices for crypto cards 💸 Costs: $0.03 gas for a $4 coffee – paying IRL with crypto is priceless of course, still 0.75% seems a lot for a POS purchase for the consumer → wonder whether future fees could be compensated by savings on the vendor side? 📈 Hack: I tipped directly from the card, but using my stash of on-chain tips would be a mind blowing hack to onboard more folks ☕ Coffee: perfect
