What are the next steps after acquiring an audience? 

Should you continue to enrich your audience with the content that initially established your platform, or should you capitalize on the opportunity immediately and begin to leverage your audience?

You have created something the audience wants. But it might also still be far from what is ideal or as good as it could be. You should keep enriching in order to learn more about your own platform. Audience will still grow during this. And you won’t spite them by immediately trying to leverage.

At some point you could leverage but I think it’s the word “immediately” that does both parties a disservice.

Your best asset is an audience that cares about your creation. It will hone the creation if you listen to them. Once you start leveraging the listening can easily stop.

I 100% agree. I am of the belief that consistently offering value to your audience will, in time, yield recognition and rewards for your efforts.
