The Japanese demonaTengu $mask β in the Buddhist and Shinto traditions of China, and then Japan, powerful spirits of mountains and forests, a kind of analogue of the European goblin or goblin. Initially, the Tengu was depicted as a winged fox, but quickly acquired a human appearance with birdβlike features - a beak, a long nose and wings.
