most problems in human culture thus far are caused by humans thinking a cheap shortcut is equal to actually putting in the work

Ozempic is a wonder drug for diabetics. As a weight loss tool, I won't cast shade now that production is picked up

we still don’t know the entire causal chain possible from its use or deployment, I’m not villainizing it fully or anything, I’ve said as much in adjacent comments; I’m just saying it’s something we’ve derived to treat the problems from our love of cheap shortcuts, and it may potentially be another cheap shortcut we will wish we never applied to treat symptoms instead of treating the root causes

While I can definitely agree with the sentiment that cheap shortcuts are aplenty, the peptide research chain takes a long time to mass market production — semaglutide and tirzepatide (and soon retatrutide) have a long history of research behind them, the former most all the way back to the 80s. They're pretty marvelous when used for their proper use cases, although I wouldn't call it a miracle drug per se
