less content creators, more cultural producers; less influencers, more community builders; less viral bubbles, more meaningful movements; less algorithm chasing, more context shaping; less digital noise, more cultural resonance, less light content, more dense media.

It starts with people actually choosing to support the cultural producers instead anything else

i think it's heading in that direction in certain parts of the internet, substack is a good example of where more dense media is being more widely supported. still feels like the crypto space is hyper focused on short term attention bubbles but that could all change quickly

In the 2021-22 NFT craze, many projects advertised themselves as long-term things and then none of those projects actually delivered any such longtermism.. If they couldn’t deliver on longtermist minded projects then, what has effectively changed about the landscape since then that signifies any advancement or even sincerity of anyone in this space to deliver on longtermist ideas today?

i was talking about that this weekend. that phase in hindsight could be seen as pure experimentation, lots of things came and went, and in that ephemerality there are lessons to learn then we had a wave of hyper speculative action which is probably tailing off now i think the next wave could feature more things of substance and hopefully be more long-term, learning from the past lessons and built on more robust rails a lot of people were burnt and hurt along the way which means that trust needs to be rebuilt
