i am part of gen-z, i know many people who are gen-z, i've seen it first hand kids (10-25yo) explicitly saying that they'll look up their question on tiktok instead of google because they get better information

not so sure it will be banned. Would be very politically unsavvy to do so if you want to attract younger voters.

Yeah but we’re in unprecedented times, harmful viral trends proliferate at lightning speeds on that app and if it truly is an appendage or proxy of the CCP then I do not believe it to be foolish to ban at all.

But I also support banning Instagram and Facebook and threads and hell even Twitter at this point.

Would be hugely negative for innovation in America if they did so. Similar to sanctions on Russia damaging the reputation of the dollar. Banning apps that have 100m users would be an incredibly foolish thing to do from a strategic perspective.
