imagine all the wonderful things there are to be a part of in life as a woman in a modern feminist society and yet so many decide dancing for the male gaze online offers them the biggest opportunities

probably because the "modern feminist society" that you're thinking of is still 1000% a patriarchal society where women consistently get paid significantly less than their male counterparts and also are offered far fewer promotions and other opportunities. almost no VC funding goes towards women led companies. women are invisible in most research still. our rights to bodily autonomy are literally being taken away before our eyes, so yeah using those bodies to make money off the men who are attempting to get rid of our rights seems like a pretty good choice. let's not consider that social media is international and a lot of women in the world still can't drive, can't vote, can't have a bank account, go outside in public without a male escort... bad take yo ):

be the change you wish to see in the world, never gonna fix the patriarchy by giving it more power over the bodies of women

using your bodies to make money off those men doesn’t solve the root cause it’s only feature creep into deeper darker patriarchal functions

selling your own videos and imagery of your body is not liberation, even if it’s been advertised as such

seems to me like women should decide for themselves what true liberation is? there's a huge difference between whatever you believe is true liberation for women and the reality of what's attainable within the societal structure we exist within - economic liberation pragmatism vs idealism, choice feminism v structural feminism women need to survive in a patriarchal society that already oppresses and profits off of them. small steps forward that make women feel empowered to make bolder decisions that will bring us to an actually feminist (equal) society
