most artists tend to be bad at making money or even (un)consciously avoid it. this seems counterintuitive but believe it or not, university art programs condition students to believe that they will be poor and deserve it. it’s truly bizarre once you gain some distance.

i think its because to be a great artist you can't be a sociopath, and to be only concerned with money certainly does make one a sociopath
