my wife has discovered she inherited her mom's alopecia areata. her hair started falling out in clumps after she had her surgery.

this is incredibly devastating for someone who has only cut her hair a handful of times in her life (her hair goes down to her feet)

i now deeply empathize with will smith slapping chris rock after watching my wife go through this and seeing the joy she used to have go away

she bought wigs but doesn't want to go out anymore because she feels so bad about herself

it’s really too bad the short hair to buzzed look still isn’t mainstream accepted for women

i truly thought Natalie Portman and Demi Moore, amongst others, had done enough work for that aesthetic to be beautiful, bold and awesome, and courageous 😕

well in this case she's deeply affected because her hair is almost normally down to the floor (4ft 10in length of hair!). 

i took her to a salon like a decade ago to get 2ft of it lopped off and it devastated her
