The politics of offering a EU-membership to an non European country. Not even close to Europe... Not very credible. Sigmar Gabriel, the former German Minister of Foreign Affairs, suggests offering Canada EU membership to counter President Donald Trump's tactics. Source is in Dutch, but lot of ways to translate it: https://businessam.be/ex-duitse-minister-stelt-eu-lidmaatschap-canada-voor-wegens-amerikaanse-spanningen/

Lol europe is what europe wants it to be. If canada and europe both want canada to be part of the eu, then that is it. Who says they have to be land locked with the eu? Uk was an island

I don't say it have to be land locked. UK = Europe, even Iceland is on the European continent. You can argue where the continent Europe stops, and the continent Asia starts, but North America is a different continent. And, you can always change the rules, but the EU is geografical bounded: "Any European State which respects the values referred to in Article 2 and is committed to promoting them may apply to become a member of the Union." (Article 49, VEU).
