I’m always happy to share free game on mistakes to avoid in the early days, having been both a crypto founder and now also a VC

If you had to do it again, what would you do differently about the Myco round? 

Personally, it was refreshing to see so many non-vcs in the round (and felt grateful to be included)

first round ($400k in Jan 21) - raised too early in our PMF journey, should have spent longer validating we were really onto something 

second round ($800k in Nov 22) - should have raised more; thought there was valor in staying ultra lean and validating our assumptions (basically the opposite problem of the first round)

Also the party round construction ended up being such a logistical nightmare, and I greatly overestimated how much they would help/even engage with my emails

Generally would not recommend that strat / KOL rounds unless they are extremely aligned and you have clear goals for how they plan to engage with the product long-term
