As of today I am no longer acting as CEO of DFZ Labs,  @psych_nft will take over as CEO, and I will be moving to a Director position where I will continue to oversee all aspects of the company and its verticals day to day - just at a different capacity. 🧵

I haven’t spoken about this publicly but a little while ago, I was diagnosed with a progressive disease called Ménière’s. It is an inner ear disorder with no cure, that results in debilitating attacks of deafness and loss of balance. During an attack I can’t stand, move, or hear anything - these attacks are not predictable and last anywhere from a couple of minutes to an hour. It can put me in dangerous and vulnerable positions and isn’t safe. The attacks have become frequent and difficult to manage.

Stress is a known trigger, and so I am actively trying to remove as many stressors in my life until i can get the attacks under control/slightly more manageable.

I am not leaving the company, or web3, I am just reducing my workload slightly to give myself the best shot at an independent healthy life. I love my work, and to reiterate, will NOT be leaving the space or the company. I remain very involved, I just won’t be at the very front of it for a little while.

I have made a lot of changes to my life to be as healthy as I can be but this is something that will be with me as I get older and I need to spend this time ensuring I am doing everything in my power to lessen the frequency and severity of the attacks. Eventually I may lose my hearing permanently, there is no cure and there isn’t a way to predict what will happen or when.
