fwiw, the constant discourse and obsession with degen, moxie, and memecoins makes me want to use farcaster much less. one casino in the city where gamblers can go is fine. but when the entire city is flooded with mini casinos on every corner, and you can’t walk down the street in your neighborhood without passing one, it becomes unlivable and uninviting. i now strongly believe that all this is net negative for the space.

If I may try to engage in constructive debate about this… The one thing that makes farcaster compelling and unique vs Twitter and Reddit right now is onchain transactions. We need more onchain transactions in farcaster not less. Casino is part of it but transactions is the big picture here.

We need transactions thus we need casinos is the wrong logic / frame. Why don’t we make all our gdp come from vegas gambling. Blending truly social and ecom (tx) need different form factors. Also we lacking tools for sub communities to grow: algo choice, client choice, localisation etc

i can agree with transactions being the special part. but not all transactions should be about gambling/speculation. and more importantly, it can't be the only thing we talk about if we want non-crypto people to use farcaster.
