A close friend who is deep into cycling has replaced all his bikes with Canyons over the past few years...his wife too. I think they have 5 Canyons between the 2 of them. My road bike was recently nabbed (h/t /sf) so I've started doing research and will likely go with a Canyon.

I used to work at Rapha and we were very close with the canyon team so got play around with a lot of their bikes I own a road bike and a hard tail from them and honestly they are my favourite bikes bang for buck

I've heard support, QC, and warranty claims have gotten a lot worse. However, they paved the D2C way and there is a reason so many of their bikes are out there now.

Yes, they are awesome, and the support is great, also you have Transition, Specialized and Scott, anyone is great I would pick Canyon or Transition, you are really not going to feel the difference at this point, for both MTB and Dowhill the components are almost the same thing!
