It's a pain but definitely something worth doing especially if you decide to make clothing or patterns with lacey designs

So the stitches hold a lot of tension when your project is done. If you soak it in water for like 30 min it will relax the stitches. Then you can use foam mats to pin your piece into shape and it will hold that shape.
