re: the japanese places that ban foreigners — kinda surprised that the whities that wrote the japanese constitution didn’t make racial discrimination illegal

segregation ended in 1964. it was also important to the Japanese to have racial segregation in 1945 so that they could kick out the former colonized subjects (korean, taiwanese, etc) that were still in the mainland but in a nationality limbo.
