started reading 'Aesthetics and Politics', a series of essays and debates by Theodor Adorno, Walter Benjamin, Ernst Bloch, Bertolt Brecht and Georg Lukรกcs about art and culture during the World Wars. as fascism is on the rise, i've been reflecting on which artistic movements will be the 'champions' for fascism in the 21st century, and which movements will be vehemently against it. are we already at that point where we need to start thinking and writing about these things? or can we hope that the fascist tendencies in politics and tech are a disgusting blip in our contemporary history and it'll wash over with the next administrations? as a side note, i fear crypto art may be considered in retrospect as the face of fascism as it stands now.

Interesting. Will put this on the reading list. Curious how you define crypto art as the face of fascism? Most of the artist interact with including myself abhor fascism.

good question! and i agree, same for me and most artists in this sector that i know. although i assume most artists would say they are not fascist, even if they support Trump, whom for me is categorically fascist. the way i see it is that most people outside of crypto regrettably conflate crypto art with other NFTs and meme coins and, since the crypto industry has been in support of the Trump/Musk complex and Musk's department is literally called DOGE, history will not look kindly on this movement if shit hits the fan ๐ข ofc i hope that won't be the case and we can highlight artists who absolutely do not abide by these policies. that's why i'm wondering if the time to write and talk about this stuff is already now.

Am aware of some artists who are either liberal or right wing. This exists and while don't agree with them always try to find common ground, art and humour being one of those areas. Got the sense that you were referring to meme culture and it's good that you point out that this often gets lumped together along with all the other polarising debates around crypto that are harmful for people genuinely trying to build something better. It's never too early or too late to talk about these things and find a way forward. Curious what you mean by the shit hitting the fan.

by shit hitting the fan i mean fascist tendencies turning into violence against certain peoples, ร la WWII. i'm wary of how alarmist that might sound ๐ฅด but i also think fascism is sneaky and i'd rather be on high alert
