Electric airplanes are already being used at pilot schools and training centers. No gas, means they're lower-cost than regular engines for students. After that, e-planes will probably be used in regional commercial flights around 100-200 miles. But from there, 10+ years, who knows, maybe we'll all have our own drones.

continued increase in battery energy density + cost reduction means:
- cars: more EV range, faster charging, lighter vehicles
- bigger cars: longer range electric buses, first light trucks
- grid storage: improves peak shaving
- heavier trucks: eventually all trucks
- all trains & ships
- anything that flies = electric

Ya really, I was roadblocked by the cost of getting them hours and paying pilot + gas. Growing up I never had that kind of money just to reach PPL status. Electric mostly takes out a chunk of that gas cost. I've seen them Bye Aerospace electric planes too, they're pretty sweet.

So much of my PPL ground classes were spent learning about aircraft systems linked to propulsion, lubrication, fueling, engine temperature, oil pressure, etc., I cannot wait for all of that to go away
