It feels like batteries are getting closer to a breakout, Wh/kg estimates each year recently keeps getting beat, we’re at 500 Wh/kg now, by mid 2030s we might reach 1000 Wh/kg,

Electric airplanes are already being used at pilot schools and training centers. No gas, means they're lower-cost than regular engines for students. After that, e-planes will probably be used in regional commercial flights around 100-200 miles. But from there, 10+ years, who knows, maybe we'll all have our own drones.

So much of my PPL ground classes were spent learning about aircraft systems linked to propulsion, lubrication, fueling, engine temperature, oil pressure, etc., I cannot wait for all of that to go away
