GE i’ve shifted from a naive globalist to a staunch American patriot over the last 2 years. i’m not an imperialist but i would deffo build systems to protect our way of life and world view - liberty, education, and social mobility. we have our issues to iron out but i believe in us maybe a spicy take idk

Ty for sharing this. I'm generally pro global competition, but with China’s recent moves I'm becoming more pro “protectionism” from the perspective of deepening American competitiveness and ties with allies.

Not sure I can fully get behind the notion that America stands for “liberty, education and social mobility” It was once true, and it may be yet again, but I don't believe it is now. Frankly not sure what “America” is anymore.

feel this for sure. i’m definitely tech privileged. likely a naive NYC bubble brain i got pretty amped by Balaji 4h podcast with Eric Jorgensen. i’m looking to the stars and interested in increasing lifetimes. i am optimistic, pro tech, and pro progress. we can still aim for greatness. nowhere i’d rather be

Totally get it. Having lived in NYC for 6 years myself, I understand. It is unfortunately a microcosm of idealism (IMHO) and not a norm. Always good to be optimistic, while remaining grounded to the reality of the 99.9% (which is most of the rest of the world).
