I'm surprised no one has mentioned capitalism or democracy

Democracy’s job: create civility and order

Capitalism’s job: generate wealth

How are they tools, though? When you say tool, I think of a Hammer, or something that does a job for you like an AI. An economic system, or a system of governance is a concept for societal organisation. It'd be like saying "the U.S. Republic is a tool..." sounds nonsensical, right? It's just an idea.
