I see his point and generally agree.

(I don't think he's saying Ivy league students aren't determined. I also think it's revealing one’s own biases and heuristics to assume attending an Ivy = talented, and not = less talented)

The perspective is also HIGHLY dependent on what one considers “achieving something”.
