I’m contemplating leaving a cushy W2 job to take a serious run at something I’ve been envisioning for a decade, and is now technologically possible. Convince me not to.

Such click bait! But in seriousness, I think it entirely depends on your family situation. If there is a way to do it with the risk managed in a way that feels comfortable for you and your partner, then 100%

Thoughts on how to manage the risk while still “burning the boats” and going all in mentally?

The approach I’ve taken is having backstop in place. 6 months of the income we need from me in a bank account in case I need to go and get a ‘proper job’. When I need to use the money in that account then it’s game over - I won’t need it, but means my wife can go about week to week life without worry about the volatility of what I’m doing.
