…what life and the world is like today, and what I expect it might be like when he reads it. Most of all, Ill share a number of life/business lessons I wish I had fully understood in my 20s and early 30s. What would you include if you were writing this to your current/future children? /end.

I’d add a preemptive apology for leaving them a scorched earth, in the spirit of this message: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-49345912

Recently did this, shared mostly things that I was feeling at her age, in relation to her, and what I felt in relation to myself. I wanted her to get a sense of the man I was in that moment as well as a sense of herself, and a sense of the world.

Oh and do it at other random times so he sees what he’s like or achieved at 6, 10 etc I’ve yet to see a teen care much for life lessons from their parents as they believe parents know little.

Had this convo the other day. Gd thing to do we think is write about them. What they like, are like. As we age our true selves can get a bit beaten out of us so nice to have something to remind us.

My dad, who died from pancreatic cancer in 2007, kept a spiral-bound notecard notebook. In it he left advice and quotes for his kids. It's one of my most cherished possessions. I created a secret, but publicly accessible, website using HTML 1.0 and is organized as a wiki that is a collection of stuff for my kids.

To find something you love and learn everything you can about it. To be who you are and say what you mean because those that mind don’t matter and those that matter don’t mind. (One of my favorite quotes from Dr. Seuss) Lastly to travel as much as you can.
