i had an awesome debate just now with a couple of folks i consider 🐐 onchain investors (they're on farcaster, btw)

crux of the debate was:

do you think Farcaster's growth to 1M DAU will be because of onchain dynamics (economic incentives)? or in spite of it?

i come down strongly on the side of "because of"

In spite of. It was designed to not be finance-forward so it can't be “because of.”

Near term it may hit that milestone “because of.”

Long term it must sustainably surpass it “in-spite of.”
